Yusuf Islam, a minor 1960's pop singer called "Cat" Stevens, demanded the ritual killing of Salman Rushdie for writing "The Satanic Verses" in accordance with the fatwa issued by Ayatollah Khomeini in 1989. Since then Mr Islam has been a militant Islamist and such a danger to the free world that he was refused permission to fly to America in October 2004 and ejected from the jet and repatriated under armed guard back to Britain. The only tragedy in this instance is that he was not ejected whilst the jet was cruising at 35,000 feet without a parachute. The articles published here demonstrate his cowardly attempts to extricate himself from this affair by claiming he was "set up" by a "disguised journalist" at a public meeting, a demonstrable and blatant lie.
